Synopsis
The young landowner, Marjánszky Mihály, manages his estate in Pálfa. He is only interested in the land, remaining a bachelor. Then he decides to marry the wealthy heiress Borcsányi Erzsi, whom he does not know personally. On the way to propose, he ends up at a wedding, where he meets a girl he thinks is a peasant girl. It later turns out that she is the one he has set his sights on, but Erzsi considers the young man a bandit based on his behavior. This is reinforced by the fact that Mihály gets involved in a theft case. The man is innocent, but it turns out that the Borcsányis are poor. Thanks to the Marjánszkys, the financial troubles are eventually resolved, and Mihály and Erzsi become a couple.
