Synopsis
On June 19, 1994, elite units of the French army were tasked with entering Rwanda to "open the doors" for the 2,500 French soldiers who would follow. Their mission, dubbed Operation Turquoise, was to "impartially contribute to the security and protection of displaced persons, refugees, and civilians in danger in Rwanda." As they progressed on the ground, the soldiers discovered mass graves and realized that the massacres of Tutsi continued in the hills. Some soldiers began to question the true meaning of their mission.
