Synopsis
The castle Tiefenstein, located in Bavaria, houses a boarding school for musically gifted orphans who are to be trained in classical music. The institute is funded by donations from the foundation of a deceased American of Bavarian descent. However, the headmistress, Mrs. Himmelreich, has accommodated too many orphans in the boarding school. To provide food for the children, most of the music teachers have been dismissed. When a telegram announces the visit of Dr. Parker, one of the trustees of the foundation, a savior in need is urgently sought. The unemployed jazz musician Peter Hagen is immediately hired along with his entire band, the "Syncopers", to advance the musical education of the children again. Peter quickly wins the hearts of his charges and also that of the beautiful music teacher Britta.
