Synopsis
Ekaterina Chumak, the widow of a Black Sea sailor, raises four sons. The children of the deceased sailor decide to dedicate their lives to the sea. Two of them sail on the same fishing boat. One is the captain, the other dreams of distant shores and tries to ignore the captain's orders, but soon realizing that he won't achieve anything this way, he takes lessons in courage and order from his older brother. The younger brother, the mischievous fifth grader Timka, will also become a captain someday, but for now, he decides to leave his mother alone and get a job as a cabin boy on a ship.
