Synopsis
Master shoemaker Gottlieb Weigelt has come a long way. He owns a large shop and has hired a foreman and twelve apprentices. His everything is his son Leopold, a good-for-nothing who tries to work as a court intern more poorly than well, but mainly shines through absence and laziness. However, he is great at spending his father's money. His financial situation becomes increasingly precarious when he meets the dancer Rosita, who proves to be a very expensive pleasure. Soon Leopold finds himself compelled to forge his father's signature to cash the notes from his moneylender. Old Weigelt does not realize how deeply his beloved son is slipping into a dangerous situation.
