Synopsis
In a car accident, 15-year-old Neil Miller loses his parents and lives with his grandparents in a coastal village. The so-called Calcutta plague arrives in England through international airports. Initially, only older people are killed by this disease, but over time the victims become younger. After his grandparents and most of the people in the village die, Neil ventures into deserted London to search for survivors. He meets Lucy and Billie and travels with the two girls. In the end, Neil falls in love with Lucy, and Billie (who becomes extremely jealous) tries to put an end to this budding love. Ultimately, Neil faces an important decision and realizes that he has learned quite a bit about life.
