Synopsis
Eva Höök has just been promoted to head of the County Criminal Police in Luleå, a position that provokes some of her male colleagues. She is a single mother to teenage Lasse and finds it not easy to combine her career with full-fledged parenting. Brutal acts of violence shake the local residents, someone tortures their victims before they are murdered. The police search in vain for patterns while new victims are found. The murderer taunts Eva Höök and her colleagues until the moment when Eva's own family seems to be threatened.
