Synopsis
Artist Antoine has lost all inspiration and slipped into alcoholism since the death of his wife Irène, a loss he blames himself for. Suzanne is a penniless sideshow performer pretending to be a clairvoyant, whom Antoine consults in a bid to connect with Irène. Antoine’s dealer Armand, desperate to keep Antoine from falling apart, urges Suzanne to keep the ruse alive. She stages a series of improvised hypnosis sessions, claiming she can channel Irène in exchange for having her debts paid by Armand.

Mood and atmosphere
Immerse yourself in a hauntingly beautiful exploration of grief and longing, where the atmosphere is thick with the weight of loss and the echoes of a past love linger in every frame. As the story unfolds in a dimly lit, intimate setting, the film captures a sense of loneliness intertwined with a flicker of hope. The aesthetics, reminiscent of a faded dream, blend warm colors with an ethereal quality, evoking nostalgia for a time when connection felt effortless. The melancholic soundtrack enhances the emotional depth, making it perfect for a cozy evening of reflection, as you journey through themes of identity, the struggle for inspiration, and the delicate dance between reality and illusion, all set against the backdrop of an artist’s tortured soul searching for redemption. This film resonates with anyone seeking beauty in the bittersweet moments of life, where love, loss, and the quest for meaning collide in a slow, meditative rhythm.
