Synopsis
Two out-of-work actors -- the anxious, luckless Marwood and his acerbic, alcoholic friend, Withnail -- spend their days drifting between their squalid flat, the unemployment office and the pub. When they take a holiday "by mistake" at the country house of Withnail's flamboyantly gay uncle, Monty, they encounter the unpleasant side of the English countryside: tedium, terrifying locals and torrential rain.

Mood and atmosphere
Immerse yourself in the bittersweet atmosphere of a bygone era, where nostalgia meets the struggle of youth. This film evokes feelings of loneliness and camaraderie, set against the backdrop of rainy days and squalid living conditions. The charming yet bleak English countryside serves as a canvas for a journey filled with existential musings and the quest for identity. With a unique blend of humor and melancholy, it resonates with those seeking a cozy, reflective experience that captures the essence of friendship, dreams, and the weight of unfulfilled aspirations, all wrapped in a warm, analog aesthetic reminiscent of the 80s.
